About

I started in special education with the birth of my 2nd son who was born with autism and Down syndrome in 1992.  I earned my bachelors in English and went on to earn my Masters in Education.

Early on I worked in education with emotionally disturbed, medically complex, and students with a variety of special education needs.  I taught summer school to middle school students who failed either English or math during the regular school year and was asked to be the summer school coordinator for grades 7-12.  I also taught English and history to grades 8-12 and was a head English teacher for most of my teaching career.

In 2009, I became an education consultant and advocate with training through the Federation for Children with Special Needs, Wright's Law, and in the last 10 years I have participated in professional development through SPaN, AANE, DESE, and countless other professional developmental programs for special education.

Since then I have traveled the state and helped hundreds of families navigate the special education process with great success.  I work hard to establish collaborative relationships that are centered on the student and avoid the pitfalls and side streets that can leave our children left behind.  My goal is to inspire educators to do their best to help our students, and to help be part of teams that help produce great outcomes for our special students.
