Susan Shapiro, is an educational consultant, special education advocate, speech-language pathologist and special education surrogate parent. Susan has over 30 years of experience working with students, families, educators, specialists, and administrators in an urban public-school setting. Susan currently serves on the SPaN board of directors.  She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the MA Speech Language and Hearing Association. Susan maintains currency in the fields of special education and speech-language pathology through professional workshops and courses.  Susan looks forward to supporting and empowering parents or guardians of school aged children with special needs to understand and exercise their rights in the special education process.

Susan is a speech-language pathologist with more than 30 years experience working with students, families, educators, specialists and administrators in the public schools. Speech-language consulting, including parent coaching and school observations, is also available upon request. Susan is passionate about empowering and supporting families to make informed decisions.
