Advocating While Black explores the intersection of race, disability, and systemic inequities in special education advocacy. Presented by Cheryl Poe, this training is designed to provide professionals, educators, and parent advocates with a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by Black families navigating the special education system. The session includes data-driven insights, real-life case studies, and practical tools to help participants recognize bias, challenge discriminatory practices, and support families in advocating effectively for their children’s rights under IDEA, and Section 504.
