About
Lucy Verhave is an educational advocate and co-director at scaffold: A Community of Support, where she partners with families, schools, and clinicians to create integrated support systems for students with complex learning and mental health needs. Drawing on over a decade of experience in education and special education advocacy, Lucy helps families navigate the IEP and 504 process with clarity and confidence—while fostering collaboration between home and school teams.
Through Scaffold, Lucy works alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, occupational therapists, and learning specialists to ensure that every plan for a student reflects both educational and therapeutic needs. Her approach is grounded in a deep understanding of how school systems operate and how to build practical, sustainable supports that help students access learning and thrive in their communities.
Before merging with scaffold, Lucy founded Verhave Education, where she supported families across Massachusetts in securing appropriate services, placements, and accommodations. Her work is known for being thorough, compassionate, and solution-oriented—always centered on the student’s whole experience.
