Sophie O'Connell
About
Sophie O’Connell, SLP, is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in Massachusetts. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She has experience evaluating and treating children with expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, feeding, social pragmatic disorders and fluency in settings including Early Intervention, public schools, private practice and outpatient clinics.
Sophie has a decade of experience supporting younger children who are neurodivergent and have developmental delays. She has assessed children who can benefit from using Augmentative and Alternative Communication and has written grant proposals for them to receive speech generating devices. Additionally, she is a bilingual Speech Language Pathologist and has worked with public schools to conduct evaluations and provided consultations for bilingual Korean-English students.
Insurance: The Speech Therapy Center accepts Harvard Pilgrim health Care, Tufts health Care (Commercial Plans), Mass General Brigham Health Plan (except for Mass General Brigham MassHealth), Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Health Plans Inc., Cigna (select plans), and Medicare.
